Resume
A concise view of the experience and role fit behind the work.
Current focus
Since July 2026, I have resumed my role as co-founder and CTO of CalmTrader following a six-month break for full-time parenting. We are restarting development around an agentic research and decision-support product, with Selva Selvakkumaran’s new working prototype as the technical foundation.
I remain open to Forward Deployed Engineer, hands-on founding-engineer, and staff/principal IC roles building AI agents, LLM infrastructure, and technically ambitious products.

The forward-deployed AI engineer version is my main resume, for the roles I am pursuing now. The data platform version covers the same career from a different angle: the ingestion pipelines, warehouses, search systems, and internal tooling that engineers and data scientists actually work in. The architecture version puts fifteen years of AWS design and operation first.

Selected evidence
- Building CalmTrader’s next iteration around auditable agent research, deterministic risk constraints, and evaluation
- Built recent AI products including the original CalmTrader trading system, ResumeFactory.ai, and ObexMetrics
- Work in a forward-deployed mode: discover the real workflow, build end to end, measure the result, and turn field learning into reusable systems
- Founded or served as CTO three times
- Led a 30-person technology organization
- Built Jukin Media’s content-management foundation and 30-person technology organization; both remained in place through its later acquisition
- Built data platforms end to end: a Redshift warehouse over an S3 lake with scheduled pipelines and BI at Jukin, and a Celery-backed ingestion pipeline, ETL layer, and Beam-on-Dataflow media processing at Vurbl
- Progressed from hands-on software engineer to director across eleven years at CNET
- Shipped across product, architecture, implementation, and operations
Working style
I am at my best in small, capable teams with a real problem, incomplete information, and enough trust to own outcomes. My executive experience helps me frame tradeoffs; my target role keeps me close to the architecture and the code.
